Drive with Odyssey Transport
We are always interested in professional drivers and owner operators who want steady cross-border and domestic work out of Dieppe, NB or Calgary, AB. Two ways to work with us — pick the one that fits.
Two ways in
Company driver or owner operator
Same freight, same dispatch, same lanes — the difference is whose truck you are sitting in.
-
Company Drivers
You drive our equipment. Maintenance, plates, insurance and the paperwork behind the truck are our problem; the road is yours. Cross-border and domestic lanes out of both terminals.
- Our tractors and trailers, maintained by us
- Cross-border and Canadian domestic runs
- Dispatch that plans a week, not a day
-
Owner Operators
You bring the truck, we bring the freight. Consistent lanes you can actually plan a month around, a dispatcher who answers, and honest conversations about what a load pays before you take it.
- Repeatable lanes rather than random one-offs
- Cross-border freight available in both directions
- A direct line to the person planning the load
The work
What driving for a two-terminal carrier is actually like
Odyssey Transport Corporation is not a mega-fleet. Dispatch knows which truck you are in and what you ran last week, so your schedule is planned by someone who already knows your situation.
Our freight is full truckload: dry van and temperature-controlled, moving between Canadian shippers and American receivers in both directions. That means fewer stops, less handling and more highway than a multi-drop operation — and the border is a routine part of the week rather than something out of the ordinary.
The two terminals, Dieppe, NB and Calgary, AB, sit at opposite ends of the country, so there is Atlantic work and Western work and a lot of road in between. Which terminal you are based at is decided together, not handed to you.
What we ask
What you need before we can put you in a truck
These are the requirements that come with the job itself — the licence, the record and the documents any cross-border carrier has to have on file.
- A valid Class 1 licence (Class AZ in Ontario) for tractor-trailer operation
- A driver's abstract we can put on file — cross-border carriers are audited on this
- Documents that let you enter the United States, if you want the cross-border work
- The willingness to run the trip the way it was planned, and to call when it changes
Experience, endorsements and pay are discussed on the phone. We would rather hear about the lanes you have actually run than rule you out on a number of years. Send an application or call Dieppe, NB on (506) 380-8511.
How to apply
Three steps, no portal, no account to create
Send your details
Use the form on the company driver or owner operator page — name, licence class, experience and which terminal suits you.
We call you
A real conversation about the lanes, the schedule and the money, with the person who plans the loads.
Paperwork and start
Abstract, documents and the usual file a cross-border carrier has to keep — then a truck and a run.
Questions
Questions from drivers
What licence do I need to drive for Odyssey Transport?
A valid Class 1 licence (Class AZ in Ontario) is the standard requirement for a tractor-trailer in Canada. For cross-border work you also need documents that let you enter the United States and a driver's abstract that a US-authority carrier can put on file.
Do I have to run cross-border?
Cross-border freight is the core of our business, so being able to cross is a real advantage. Tell us on the application if you are Canada-only or if you are willing to arrange the documents — both answers are worth a conversation.
What is the pay?
Pay depends on the position, the lanes and your experience, so it is discussed directly rather than posted as a range. Call the terminal nearest you or send an application and we will give you the real numbers, not a headline figure.
Which terminal would I be based at?
Either Dieppe, NB or Calgary, AB. Say which one suits you on the application — and if you are flexible, say that too, because it widens the work we can offer you.
How long does it take to hear back?
Applications go straight to dispatch rather than into a general inbox. If your details fit the work we have, you will hear from a person — and if there is nothing right now, we keep the application on file rather than pretending otherwise.
Ready to talk about a seat?
Send an application or call the terminal nearest you. Either way you get a person, not an auto-reply.
